Melissa Jones was born and raised in Oakland, California. She recently received her M.F.A. in Creative writing at Mills College in Oakland. She was published in “The Womanist Journal,” a literary journal at Mills College. She was also published in “Torch Literary Magazine” and “SpringGun Press Journal.” She is a singer/songwriter and poet. She hopes to continue publishing and in the near future publish a larger manuscript along with an album.
